The 2015 Yachting World Dayboat National Championships was held under the burgee of Salcombe Y.C between the 7th to 11th June and these sturdy 14ft classic clinker sailing dinghy's experienced sunny and increasingly windy sailing conditions during the week.

Twenty-two Dayboats - mainly from UK club strongholds at Poole, Bosham, Gravesend and Thornbury Sailing Clubs - completed four Championship races and a long distance race from Salcombe to the Crabshell Inn at Kingsbridge.

The Championship racing was dominated by one family with Peter Hewitt crewed by Chris Lockett taking overall victory.

Second place was followed by son Michael Hewitt crewed by Natalie French, and third place by yet another son, James Hewitt crewed by Rachael Bullingham.

The Dayboat Association organised a range of other prizes for different aspects of the racing and these all went to non-Hewitt sailors!
