Saturday 30th May 2015 saw sunshine and a range of sailing conditions for the fourth of the RYA NWJTT series held at West Lancashire Yacht Club. 38 boats competed in the 3 fleets of Youth, Junior and Optimist.
The galley did a superb job, from the early morning bacon butties to the outstanding lunches and fantastic home-made cakes.
The first races started in moderate breeze with the wind dropping throughout the day. A slip up with the gas bottle change over in the galley lead to two races before lunch, enabling three races to be completed before the wind died. With the galley providing further cakes and refreshments to finish off.
The Bob Willetts Optimist Trophy for the first Optimist was won for the third year in succession by Drew Gibbons from Redesmere SC.
The Youth fleet was won by Ben and Gabe Hill from West Lancs YC sailing a Graduate.
The Lloyd Hayes Trophy for first junior was won by Lorcan Knowles from Leigh and Lowton SC sailing a topper. Who was also the first under 14 boat.
The first double hander in the junior fleet were Sian Talbot and Eloise Clapson-Mcbride from Leigh and Lowton in a RS Feva.
