Crewsaver, the essential lifesaving equipment and clothing manufacturer, is delighted to announce that it will, for a second year, be providing on the water clothing and safety equipment for both participants and instructors of the Andrew Simpson Sailing Centre.
Over its first year the Centre has enjoyed an enormous amount of success; over 4,000 participants have been through the centre to date, ranging from complete beginners new to the sport and learning how to sail, to keen racers looking to improve on their skills.
The Centre is run on a not-for-profit basis and receives an annual grant from the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation.
'Our partnership with Crewsaver is important to the success of the Centre. Their support means our safety equipment and clothing is provided, allowing us to spend more of the very generous donations we receive to get increased numbers of young people on the water' Alex Porter, Centre Manager.
A key example of this is the recently launched 'Bart's Sailing for Life Programme' which allows the Sailing Centre to offer subsidised courses, helping to ensure that getting on the water is accessible to all.
Following a formal grant giving process the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation is also to give grants totalling seventy one thousand, four hundred and seventy five pounds (£71,475) to not-for-profit sailing projects in South Africa, Bermuda, Scotland and England.
Crewsaver's Managing Director Ross Wilkinson said, 'We are delighted to assist the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation in their fantastic projects to engage, encourage and support the next generation of sailors. We have worked close with the ASSF team over the last year on numerous projects and we only intend to grow this relationship further.'
