Island Sailing Club Evening Racing Series - Day 5

26 May 2015
On a lovely summer's evening, 59 boats came to the line for the latest round of the Island Sailing Club's Evening Race Series. In the light NNW wind, all classes were sent on a reach to the East before embarking on good beats and runs.
Thoughts of shortening one or two courses after the first hour were unnecessary as the breeze filled in from the North.
The best race was in the Flying Fifteen class with the first three boats finishing within 25 seconds of each other. Ffuraha just beat Freddie Flintoff with Ffreefire20 third.
Towards sunset the wind died but, as the vast majority of each class had finished by 9pm, the gate for finishing stayed open for the extra half hour. There were a few retirements with the last of the 51 finishers completing the course with 15 minutes to go.
