The four event RS Tera 2105 Northern Travellers' Series is now half way through and we've had a record entry already with 6 Pro rigs and 37 Sport rigs competing in the Northern Championships and the Ripon SC Open Meeting, both of which were held this month. Competitors have come from Wales and Scotland to join the very strong group of sailors from clubs in the North of England and it has been fantastic to see the skills which the fleet have demonstrated in some pretty testing conditions. It has also been really good to see new fleets developing in the North, with a really good spread of clubs now in the 'Tera Family' across the NE and NW.
In terms of the positions so far, Henry Rastrick(Ripon SC) is currently leading the Pro fleet on 2 points, pursued by Rohan Murphy (South Windermere SC) on 5 points. Jamie Rastrick (Ripon SC) is leading the Sport fleet with 2 points, followed by Ellie Clark (Ripon SC/Derwent Reservoir SC) on 7 points and George Combe, Cameron Straughan (both Derwent Reservoir SC) and Josh Manning (Leigh and Lowton SC/South Caernarvon YC) all tied in 3rd on 12 points. There is plenty of time for all these positions to change before the end of the series!
The next meeting is on 6 and 7 June at Derwent Reservoir SC, and on-line entry is now available via the DRSC website, The final meeting (which will include the series prize giving) will take place at South Windermere SC on Saturday 11 July. The team are very grateful to their sponsors, Outdoor Sewing Solutions, Red Bus Coaching and Mike Saul Dinghy Services for their help in providing support and prizes for the competitors.
