P&B : Made In-House

Made In-house with P&B!

MADE IN-HOUSE!

It was fantastic to see such a dominant P&B performance at the 505 worlds, with all 3 teams on the podium powered by P&B. It was a serious confirmation that the work done during 2014 leading to Mike Holt’s first title has seen significant performance gains.

The work didn’t stop last year, the sail loft have continued to make small adjustments to further improve the sails. 7 races won from the 8 sailed in variable conditions is a massive achievement and Mike seems to have found another gear,  producing a dominant performance which was great to see.

For P&B South we were also really pleased to see Ian sailing to 2nd over all with 2 race wins using one of our in house produced high aspect rudders. Since switching during the winter, Ian has been really happy with the way his rudder has performed, smaller in design and drag than his previous blade but without increased stall. So far the rudder design has been trialled on the Merlin and 505 with great success and we plan to test it in more classes over the coming months.

Back in the UK, the Paragon Merlin Rocket mast continues to set the benchmark. Last weekend saw one of the more hotly contested Silver Tiller events of the year down in Salcombe. The weekend saw current national champion Stu Bithell returning and winning the event using a Paragon mast and boom. With 3 of the 4 races won using Paragon spars it was another strong showing.

With the next batch of tubes received and into production now is the time to place your order to avoid disappointment. If you would like to know more about our manufactured products or require a quote for a custom item then contact us via email .

RESTORATION PROJECT!

The work carried out in both Fareham and Northampton is very varied with repairs and refurbishments in all modern and traditional materials  undertaken. This week Darren has started on the refurbishment of a classic Flying 15, with the customer wanting the decks completely stripped and re-varnished along with the hull painting. Darren’s experience of working on wooden boats covers everything from full re-builds of XOD’s to scale models and his finished work is second to none.

It’ll be fantastic to see how this boat comes back to life over the next few weeks, with a large proportion of the deck now stripped back its already looking greatly improved.

If you have a boat you are looking to upgrade or restore then our teams in Northampton and Fareham have all the advice and experience to offer you the best possible service and end results. For more information contact is via enquiries@pinbax.com (Fareham) or info@pinbax.com (Northampton).
