Saturday saw eighteen remote controlled Dragon Force 65 model yachts competing on Lymington Sea Water Baths. This locally adopted class is now the fastest growing DF fleet in the UK and has attracted the very best local sailors to compete on a weekly basis.
Eight races were completed during the afternoon session with five different skippers gaining a bullet. Paul Davis was consistent which ultimately paid dividends allowing him to secure first place. Jon Harvey tied on points with Alex Hayman but took second on count back. Keith Willis just failed to make the podium taking fourth place just ahead of Karl Thorne.
The battle between the ladies was won by Beverley Johns who beat Catherine Maguire by one point finishing 7th and 8th respectively, however Catherine Maguire can take solace in the fact she performed better than her co-owner Simon Maguire when he raced the boat last.
The upcoming March Championships on Saturday 28th March are expected to draw approaching thirty competitors to battle it out on the pool. Racing starts from 1000hrs and should be compelling. Further information from www.ltsc.co.uk
