There aren't many sailing clubs that can say one of their members have achieved a top 10 result at the Bloody Mary race. Portchester Sailing Club can say it has two members that have achieved exactly that in 2015.

In conditions that have been well documented for being some of the most extreme of the Bloody Mary's 42 year history, both sailors used their many years of experience and training to good use.

Alex Davies, regular Solo sailor at PSC, and 505 crew, sailing with Ian Pinnell achieved 5th place overall, as well as getting the fasted recorded speed for the day at 19.4 knots!

Mark Oakey who regularly helms and crews RS400's at PSC also races Merlin Rockets and it was whilst sailing with his helm William Warren that they sailed to a well deserved 8th position overall

Both Alex and Mark have been members of PSC since early childhood, and it shows once again how PSC is able to produce sailors of the highest standard.

The sailing committee would like to congratulate both sailors on their fantastic achievement.
