Entries for the 2015 RYA Youth National Championships, being held at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA), are now open.

The premier event on the RYA Youth Racing calendar will take place from the 4-10 April on the waters used for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and which will host the world's elite at the ISAF Sailing World Cup in June. All sailors should enter online via the event website here.

Competition will be highly charged as places for the British Youth Sailing Team ISAF Youth Worlds Selection event at Hayling Island Sailing Club (29- 31 August 2015) will be up for grabs along with the chance to earn selection to British Youth Sailing Squads and to win a host of international travel grants.

Racing will be held across Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour for boys in Laser Standards, girls and boys in Laser Radials and Neil Pryde RS:X 8.5 windsurfers, and for all-boy, all-girl or mixed crews in 420s, 29ers and Spitfire catamarans.

Mark Nicholls, RYA Youth Racing Manager, said: "We are pleased to be able to announce that online entries are now open for the primary event on the RYA Youth Racing Calendar. WPNSA is an excellent venue which offers great local support and an army of highly experienced volunteers who help deliver world class sailing events.

"With the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships taking place at the end of 2015, sailors will this year be competing for the right to attend the British Youth Sailing Team selection event in August. The Championships will also welcome a whole new generation of sailors who are making the step up from Junior into the Youth racing classes which will be pleasing to see. I know the squads have been working hard over the winter months which will therefore provide a highly competitive and exciting racing environment this April.

Nicholls concluded: "With a bumper entry once again expected, I would urge parents and sailors to finalise their plans and submit their online entry as soon as possible."

The entry deadline for the 2015 RYA Youth National Championships is up until 23:59hrs on Sunday 8 March 2015 for the Laser Standard, RS:X and Spitfire. All other classes have up until 23:59hrs on Sunday 22 March 2015 - late entries will not be accepted
