Flying Fifteen Winter Series at Parkstone Yacht Club - Day 9

by David Tabb 16 Dec 2014 09:36 GMT 13 December 2014

December the 13th at Parkstone was another light and fluky day.

Two races were sailed. The first being for the Saturday series. The light wind came and went from 8 knots to zero at times leaving parts of the fleet looking very good one moment and DFL the next.

Christina Moncur and Steve Moncur won a convincing race to give them their second win of the series. They were followed home by a very consistent Bob Alexander and Huw Willetts and then David and Carol Duke who continued their good form after winning their last Saturday race. Yet again 3 ladies in the top 4 boats showing what a great family racer the Flying Fifteen is.

This race saw the second discard fit into the series leaving Bob Alexander narrowly leading from David Tabb and Chewey Sherrell with one race to go. The next race (praying for wind) looks set to be a nail-biting affair!

Race 2 for the mini series was sailed in even less wind with a good win fort Adrian Tattersall and Peter Biggs, a consistent second for Bob Alexander and Huw Willetts and third for an ever improving Steve Randle and Lisa Randle.

The current results of the 2nd mini series has Bob Alexander leading by 6 points from Steve and Lisa Randle.

The class have agreed to meet mid-week for an ancient druid wind dance prior to the last race of the series!
