Yet again, the Lightning368 Grand Prix series has gone down to the wire. Richard Palmer (Cookham Reach) and last year's champ Paul White (Draycote) head into Saturdays showdown with the two of them as potential series winners.
Richard is in a strong pole-position, though, simply needing to keep Paul at bay and away from winning any races (I use the word 'simply' advisedly there!).
Paul. though, could still take the championship if he wins all three scheduled races and Richard finishes outside the top three on at least one race. A tall order perhaps, but this closely fought series has had a habit of throwing up surprises this year so who knows? - look out for some exciting pre-starts then!
For everyone else it should be a day with an end-of-term feel. Always a good turnout for this one and just a great way to finish the season in this very friendly class.
The series rounds of this Saturday November 15th at West Oxford SC. Three races are scheduled, as well as an informal class end-of-year dinner down the pub afterwards.
All are welcome to come and take a look at Lightning racing and we wish Richard and Paul all the best in their upcoming battle.
