Perfect Partners with Sophie Ainsworth and Charlotte Dobson

by Lindsey Bell, RYA 23 Oct 2014 20:42 BST 23 October 2014

Does the perfect partnership exist within sport? What are the secrets behind building a successful partnership that will deliver gold medals on the world's biggest stage? We catch up with our 49erFX sailors Charlotte Dobson and Sophie Ainsworth to find out more.

After having spent a summer of Squad rotation within the British Sailing Team camp, the GBR FX Girls soon began their journey on perfecting their skiff sailing skills and more importantly their time together in this exciting high performance double handed class.

And with now over a year of ISAF Sailing World Cup and World and European Championship competition under their belts, the girls have built one of the strongest partnerships in this new Olympic class for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Find out how their team came about, what makes them tick, the key components of a perfect partnership and which team they believe are a true testament to a perfect partnership.
