Four time Alpari World Match Racing Tour champion Ian Williams and his GAC Pindar crew take to Hamilton Harbour, Bermuda for the Argo Group Gold Cup (22-26 October 2014), holding a narrow lead over Taylor Canfield (US One).

With just two events remaining on the 2014 Tour, Williams and GAC Pindar remain at the leader board summit on 94 points, with Canfield in hot pursuit on 88. This season Williams has been in exceptional form, having made five successive finals, including victories in Germany and Poland.

The Argo Group Gold Cup is one of the most lucrative events on the World Match Racing Tour calendar with a $100,000 purse and the winner receives the King Edward VII Gold Cup – the oldest match racing trophy in the world.

Williams commented: "I'm really looking forward to getting back to Bermuda - the venue for our first win on the Tour in 2006. Unfortunately, results there since have not been great, so we're looking to use it a stepping stone before we head to the all-important final event in Malaysia."

The start of the Argo Group Gold Cup is delayed until Wednesday 22 October because Hurricane Gonzala is set to delay the teams' travel plans. Williams leads his GAC Pindar crew that will feature Gerry Mitchell (Trimming), Mal Parker (Main) and Chris Main (Bow & Tactics).

The Tour Champion will be crowned at the final event, The Monsoon Cup in Malaysia (25-29 November).
