Extreme Sailing Series™ 2014, Programme Four, St. Petersburg & Cardiff

From the 26-29 June, Saint Petersburg played host to the Extreme 40s for the first time, and the River Neva made for a spectacular setting for Act 4. Battling strong current and one of the tightest racecourses on the global tour, it came down to a five-team final race shoot-out, that eventually saw Alinghi clinch victory in a game of Russian roulette.

Next stop for the 11 elite level teams was Cardiff, where the fleet were greeted with a warm Welsh welcome, as the centerpiece to the Cardiff Harbour festival, presented by Land Rover, 22-25 August. Act 5 saw the fleet surge into the second half of the season and some of the newer teams begin to challenge the old order out on the track.
