From Summer To Autumn!
With a certain chill in the air as the Autumn season sets in we look at some essential products to prolong your summer kit and keep yourself on the water for longer.
It is always a good idea to start from the base and with the base layers there are a number excellent thermal layers that act as a second skin, these help keep the body temperature regulated without compromising your range of movement. The Gul Evotherm Long John provides a full body thermal layer which is great for those slightly colder days, however if long johns are not for you then you can add variation to your base layers with a Gul Evotherm Pant, Evotherm Rashguard or Gul Viper Recore Thermal Rashguard.
If you're looking for something to fit over the top of your layers then the Zhik Orspan Top, Gul Profile Thermo Top or the NEW Gul Hydroshield Top might be just the thing you're looking for. These thicker layers all have a fleece inner allied to specially treated outer fabrics that help trap the warmth whilst the outer skins repel the water and provide the flexibility needed when sailing.
As for your head, feet and hands P&B have a great range of thermal socks, gloves and warm hats including the Gill Hot Socks, Gul PU Beanie and the Gill 3 Season Gloves.
Back To Base-ics!
So you're back from the show with your brand new Musto MPX or Gill OS2 suit and still unsure what to wear underneath. In that case why not start with the Musto Active Base Layers or the Gill i2 Base Layers? Acting as an additional layer of insulation it doesn't matter whether your offshore racing or cruising around the Atlantic these base layer garments are ideal for the autumn months and beyond.
KIT of the WEEK!
Each week one of the P&B team will be looking into their kit bag and giving us an item that they simply wouldn't sail without.
As results continue to filter through from last weekend's Bart's Bash world record sail all our local clubs turned out in force to support the charity event. With so many boats on the water the odd 'bash' was inevitable and P&B's Andy Farmer had his fair share of the action! With nearly 100 boats on the Notts County SC water Andy and his Flying 15 got very 'friendly' with an RS400 which resulted in some urgent on site running repairs. The SP Epoxy Repair kit is perfect for this and is something all sailors should have ready on shore and in their kit bag just in case.
P&B's Weekly Round Up!
We've got a run down of the action from the Solo's, Merlin Rocket's and National 12's. Read our Blog for more on these results as P&B announce the introduction of a new radial sail...
