A warm, Welsh welcome is anticipated at the Crewsaver Topper Nationals 2014 which begin Sunday 3rd August.
Over 250 boats are registered for this flagship event at Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club, for five days of racing in the world class waters of Tremadog Bay. Topper families are looking forward to their week on the Llyn, enjoying the outstanding natural beauty of the area and of nearby Snowdonia.
A number of international sailors are starting their trip to Wales early; joining helms from the home countries at the Crewsaver Nationals to experience the friendship and competitive spirit of the largest junior fleet in GBR. Visiting sailors are expected from India, Malta, Japan, Thailand, France and Ireland. Hopefully the dolphins will come and watch the racing too!
After prize giving at the end of the week, the Topper Class has planned to take a Topper to the summit of Snowdon – helping to raise money for the John Merricks Sailing Trust and the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation.
The Topper Class Association proudly announce Crewsaver as title sponsor for the event. This sponsorship allows the class to be able to award lots of lucky winners with vouchers to purchase some of the fantastic kit from the brand new Crewsaver Phase2 dinghy range!
During the week sailors and parents can also take advantage of a 10% discount on all Crewsaver products purchased at Firmhelm chandlery.
"This event is the pinnacle of our Crewsaver racing calendar and we are looking forward to every sailor achieving a personal best at this regatta, which is an important indicator for squad selection in 2015. Crewsaver's support of our major events has enabled the Class to deliver exceptional events and to celebrate the successes of talented Topper sailors throughout the fleet. Pwllheli is a fantastic location for our Crewsaver Nationals and the completion of the Welsh National Sailing Academy and Events Centre will be a great addition to an already world class dinghy sailing venue." - Adam McElroy ITCA(GBR) Chairman
Provisional race results and event news will be shared through Twitter and the ITCA (GBR) Facebook page throughout the week.
