The 2000 Class will hold their 16th National Championship at Exe SC from 3rd-8th August. The event is generously sponsored by the 2000 manufacturer LDC Sailing.
There will be a strong fleet of 39 boats attending, with possibly a few more signing up next week. This attendance is slightly up from last year.
The boats will start to arrive on Saturday 2nd August and the event will kick off with a Devonshire Cream Tea on Saturday afternoon.
Racing will start on Sunday and run through until Friday and plenty of tight racing is expected right down the fleet. The race officer is none other than the designer of the boat - Phil Morrison.
Off the water in the afternoon and evenings there is plenty planned too. We have a buddy system running during the week so that the experts in the top half of the fleet can pass on some words of wisdom. There is a sand castle building competition on Tuesday, a Pub Quiz on Wednesday and a party on Friday night after prize-giving at which everyone can let their hair down!
If you have a 2000 and aren't coming, it's not too late to sign up! Exmouth Rugby Club are allowing us to camp at their ground, so there is no problem finding somewhere to stay.
