All set at Magic Marine Marblehead Worlds at Gouda, The Netherlands

69 competitors from 13 countries have descended on Gouda in the Netherlands to compete at this year's Magic Marine Marblehead Class 2014 World Championships.

Skippers hulls, foils and multiple rigs are being put through a precise and efficient measurement process to ensure all conform to class rules, with the number of those being found outside of class being very low in comparison to past events reflecting a level of build precision and quality across the globe in new equipment that is always looking to better itself. At the conclusion of measurement today a number of warm up races will be held where some last minute tuning and wind pattern familiarity will be sought after by the fleet. An evening welcome, skipper briefing and opening ceremony will take place tonight and then from 10 am sharp Monday, the first round of racing will commence.

Analyse the results for the top two sailors, and you realise just how well both sailed Thank you to all the participants for turning up at Chipstead on a beautifully sunny if slightly chilly Saturday morning. It was encouraging that there were 8 different designs from 5 different designers Fog, light winds from the east south-east and the forecast of rain put off 3 of the 14 entries, but those who sailed in the 11 races created some exciting, but frustrating racing and stayed dry as there was no rain. At eight AM the lake was like a smooth mirror, no sign of the forecast North Easterly breeze, but the cold temperature was spot on. At least it was dry. Racing on the edge of Ilkley Moor, 256 feet above sea level The Weecher Reservoir is situated 256 feet above sea level on the edge of Ilkley Moor.
