Entries Open For The ISAF Sailing World Cup Melbourne 2014

The Notice of Race for both Olympic and Invited Classes has been published online and entries are now being accepted for ISAF Sailing World Cup - Melbourne, which is the second regatta of the 2015 ISAF Sailing World Cup series.

The full suite of ISAF Sailing World Cup Classes (470 Men's, 470 Women's, 49er, 49FX, Finn, Laser, Laser Radial, Nacra 17, RS:X Men, RS:X Women, 2.4mR, SKUD18, Sonar, Kiteboard Men and Kiteboard Women), will again be contested from the world acclaimed Sandringham Yacht Club in Melbourne Australia, from the 7th to the 14th December 2014.

Alongside the ISAF Sailing World Cup fleets, the event will again be racing a selection of youth and Olympic feeder classes, through an extensive Invited Classes program, including; FX (open), Laser 4.7, Laser Radial (men), Liberty, Optimist, 420, 29er, OK, Viper, 505, Minnows and International Cadets.

Performance Director of the Australian Sailing Team, Mr Peter Conde, explained how the ISAF Sailing World Cup – Melbourne (Sail Melbourne) has proved an important regatta in the preparation of the highly successful Australian Sailing Team.

"Sail Melbourne is a fixture on our Australian Sailing Team's international racing calendar and we're looking forward to another great ISAF World Sailing event in Melbourne in December.

With the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games fast approaching, we will make the most of having the opportunity to present our 2016 Olympic and Paralympic aspirants to the Australian public while racing the rest of the world's Olympic sailors," said Mr Conde.

The ISAF Sailing World Cup – Melbourne racing action kicks off Monday 8th December and wraps up with two days of Medal Races over the weekend.

Competitors will be able to register at the regatta office from Sunday the 7th December, up until the morning of their first scheduled race and taking on feedback from 2013, the event has extended the Invited Class program which will see most Invited Classes racing from Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th.

The event is offering a 25% discount on entry fees for all entries received before the 1st October 2014, head to the event website to take advantage of this offer.
