With the 20 knot plus gusts subsiding before the start of the Moore Blatch Thursday Night race there was a pleasant 10-12 knot south westerly breeze with sunshine.
On the ebb tide Class 1 had a beat to Echopilot just off Hurst spit before plugging the tide on a gybing run up the shore to Bridgefords with plenty of jostling for places trying to squeeze round Pennington Outfall Post and the Platform. With a final beat to Colten's where the race was shortened Jibe pulled ahead to win line honours and take the handicap win as well followed by Zarafa then Jelly Baby who managed to hold off Fidelitas by just 2 seconds.
7 boats in the Class 3 Lymington Handicap fleet started clean and fairly even on a down tide beat into a moderate breeze. Tactile was first round the windward mark off Pennington outfall followed by Fly Orchid and Unity. On the downwind leg into the tide Unity and Pathogem, with Toby Collyer sailing single handed on the latter, gybed inshore out of the tide passing Fly Orchid with Tactile still ahead. On the final beat to the finish in a dying breeze which again favoured the lighter boats, Nauti Lady got ahead of Pathogem to be third over the line but first on corrected time with Unity second and Tactile third.
