Stuart Hydon from Shustoke S.C. defended the title he won last year, winning the Barnt Green Lark Open, this time crewed by Stuart Bush.

Stuart won all three races on a sunny and breezy day with excellent sailing for the four club boats and five visitors. Stuart was pushed hard by Stuart and Louise Norris from Shropshire S.C. in the first race and Bob and Mandy Suggitt, who lead for the first lap, in the third race. Nicholas von Benzon and Helen Keep from Severn S.C. came a creditable fourth in their first open meeting.

Barnt Green's Larks inherited a trophy from the now defunct Firefly fleet which originated when Fireflys were the single handed class at the London Olympics in 1948. The race for the Bittel Bottle has been run every year since and the winner this year was Bob Suggitt with Oliver Ridgway second and George Puttock third.
