Renato Plass's Crioula became champion of the Búzios Sailing Week, after three days of intense races at the Iate Clube Armação de Búzios.

On the last day, Torben Grael's Magia V won the two windward – leeward courses that the boats completed in Búzios with a 10 knots wind that then increased to 14 knots. Crioula, skippered by the four times J/24 champion Mauricio Santa Cruz, added two second places and Carioca added two third positions.

The three competitors fought much in both races; in the first one the boats crossed the start line in 30 seconds and the Soto 40s Crioula and Magia V crossed it with just 7 seconds of difference between them. In the second race, Carioca was OCS and had to clean its penalty, but the crew leaded by Roberto Martins managed to reach the other boats and fight with them before the finish line.

However two victories weren't enough to achieve the first position and Torben's boat ended in second place overall. With 5 races and one discard, Crioula placed first position with 5 points, while Carioca added 15 units and finished third position on the overall leader board.

Overall Results:

1st Crioula, 1/1/1/(2)/2, 5pts
2nd Magia V, (2)/2/2/1/1, 6pts
3rd Carioca, (3)/3/3/3/3, 12pts
