The Stan Cleal Trophy sailed at the Aquadrome, Rickmansworth on 24 November provided a fitting climax to the 2013 Marblehead GAMES series, as there were 3 potential winners entered with the winner of the event most likely to become the GAMES champion.

Darin Ballington started well by winning every other race and so by lunchtime it was clear that he was favourite to win. Apart from one discard after lunch his consistency with 6 consecutive 3rd places confirmed him and his ROK as the both the Stan Cleal Trophy winner and 2013 GAMES Champion and holder of the Midgley Mug until another exciting series comes to an end at this event next year. Runner-up in the event was Roy Stevens, with Tony Guerier third.

The 3 Rivers Club team of John Male, Steve Poole and John Rance ran a very well-organised event in light NNE winds and were thanked by the prizewinners for providing the 13 competitors with 14 races in sometimes unpleasant drizzly conditions.

The 2014 GAMES events start next year with the Canada Cup, to be run by Poole Radio Yacht Club at Longham Lakes on 16th of February 2014.

It was encouraging that there were 8 different designs from 5 different designers Fog, light winds from the east south-east and the forecast of rain put off 3 of the 14 entries, but those who sailed in the 11 races created some exciting, but frustrating racing and stayed dry as there was no rain.
