The International RS Feva Class has revamped its website and is now live at www.rsfeva.org. The aim was to simplify the website and make finding the right information easier. The contributions and drive to the previous site by Richard Gibbons have been much valued over the years and every so often a new look is a good idea. Anthony York of chunkyweb.net has done a marvellous job in helping the class complete this. The Class welcomes comment and suggestions for further improvement.
The launch coincides with entries for the 2015 World championships in Carnac, France going live. Entries are limited to 180 so please get those entries in to avoid disappointment. Entries are also open for the 2014 Easter International Training Camp at L'Escala, Spain.
Carnac is much loved by the class having had a superb event there a number of years ago. It is one of Europe's finest venues with a beach holiday atmosphere and many different types of accommodation available. Non sailing parts of the family can also have a great relaxing time. The last time the class was there the seabreeze kicked in daily regular as clockwork giving the most fantastic competition. Clearly weather can't be guaranteed but we are very excited in any event.
By way of a new departure, there will be layday in the middle if the weather co-operates and plans are being made for some form of team racing competition to happen that day in the afternoon (on the basis that the wind doesn't kick in until then). The concept of a layday was first put forward by a terrific Irish sailor at the AGM during the 2012 Worlds at Hayling Island – thank you so much, inspiration can come from anyone in this open class! The photo attached is one of our favourites, being the sporting moment when the winner of the last worlds in Carnac was congratulated by his Italian pursuer shortly after the finish of the last race. So sign up and bring your best sporting head!
