On 1st November, the wind came back with an average of 30 knots with stronger gusts. It was a great day for all riders because everyone enjoyed the further improvements made to the channel, increasing their performances in less wind, and appreciating the conditions after a week without wind.
We celebrated a new record today, David Garrel (Luxembourg); once again broke his country's National Record with 47.81 knots (was 46.37 knots).
Patrick Vanhoof (Belgium) also performed very well by reaching 47.65 Knots. He was just outside the Belgian National Record (47.72 knots) which he recently set and thus his performances are constantly improving.
This superb day was crowned by the best performance of the year in Windsurfing by Anders Bringdal who achieved 50.43 knots, narrowly beating Antoine Albeau's speed of 50.07 knots achieved a few days ago.
The wind conditions have been lighter compared to the first weeks of the event but due to further improvements to the canal, higher speeds are being achieved in less wind.
The channel will still be opened today (02.11.13) even if the conditions look lighter.
