4K's where are you?

Is your boat like this? © Richard de Fleury

Have you got a Laser 4000 (a.k.a. 4K, 4tonner, 4 grand)? R U sailing it anywhere? Or has it become a home for mice buried in the bushes somewhere? Either way let us know, we are trying to find them all! Yes, I said all - a tall order as they are all over the world now!

If you have a 4K please let us know the following by emailing press@laser4000.org.uk

  • Sail No.
  • Sailing club / or town if not a member of a club
  • Country
  • Owner (This will only be published with your consent, which will be assumed, if you have given us all the other boat details)

Our intention is to put a list on the association website to help identify the best places for events, connect 4K sailors and to try and get more boats sailing. We need all the help we can get to find them, so if you know someone who has a boat or have recently sold one, please let us know roughly where it is– i.e. I sold boat 'X' to someone in France, and if you have a contact for them, please ask them to contact us with the above info.

Is your boat looking a little sad then get it out and sail it! The next 4K event is in Rutland on the 19th-20th October, more than enough time to dig it out, remember how to rig it and get some practice in.

If you are trying to sell your boat let us know the price and contact details and we can help spread the word for you by adding it to a list of boats for sale on the forum if you have not already done so yourself.

If you have a boat, are you a member of the association? If not, it would be great if you joined, at a bargain price of £10 a year, per boat. If you have recently sold a boat please encourage the new owners to get in touch with us and join the association to get useful hints and tips on sailing it. Visit www.laser4000.org.uk.

Thanks everyone for your help.
