Icom showcases latest products at the PSP Southampton Boat Show 2013

by Ian Lockyer, ICOM UK 30 Aug 2013 12:26 BST Stand H021, 13-22 September 2013

Icom will be displaying its latest range of marine communication products at the Southampton Boat Show 2013. The UK's leading outdoor boat show runs from the 13th until 22nd September 2013 and attracts hundreds of boats, exhibitors and visitors. Icom UK is on stand H021, situated just outside the southern entrance to Ocean Hall.

On show will be Icom's new range of VHF radios including the IC-M323 Entry Level VHF/DSC Transceiver and IC-M73PLUS Professional VHF Marine Transceivers. Also being showcased is Icom's new IC-M400BB 'Black Box' VHF Marine DSC and the Marine Commander navigation system.

The Icom IC-M323 Entry Level VHF/DSC, available in Black or Super White has the same revolutionary design as the higher tier IC-M423. It also features the same common user interface that has been adopted on the latest Icom radios including intuitive "soft-keys" permitting faster access to radio functions. As a result of simplifying the technical features offered, Icom has managed to produce a set that offers really good value!

The new IC-M400BB 'Black Box' marine VHF/DSC radio is a fully functional transceiver that can be installed out of sight, which is important when space is at a premium. This space saving configuration from Icom gives the benefits of a full fixed VHF/DSC to boat owners who might not normally have the space to use one.

New to the Southampton Boat Show is the IC-M73EURO to partner Icom's recently launched IC-M73PLUS, which incorporates a voice recording function and Icom's Active Noise Cancelling Technology. This new model has the basic functions of the "PLUS" version including IPX8 submersion rating, 6 watts high output, long battery life and a compact ergonomic body amongst many other features. As such, it will be ideal for all leisure and commercial customers who want a solid, dependable handheld VHF that they can rely on!

Also on show will be the Icom Marine Commander Navigation System. The system integrates AIS data from a compatible transponder or receiver, radar information and displays data from a sounder/fish finder. In addition, it also has the capacity to receive DSC callls, display mapping/cartography, display real-time fuel consumption, engine speed, depth and temperature, and has provisions for four on-board cameras to be connected (via RCA connectors). Two 12.1 inch TFT displays can be connected to the Marine Commander's main processor.

You can buy Icom products from the many Icom dealers at the show who will be fully stocked with our range of marine radio products and offers.
