Hundreds of people of all ages and abilities took to the water and experienced sailing in North Wales with RYA Push the Boat Out.
Rhyl had an invasion of pirates as around 100 children and families enjoyed the activities on the marine lake, with many in fancy dress as they took part in water pistol fights, a Saturday evening cruise and a bouncy castle.
More than 100 children enjoyed a first taste of sailing, as well as other water-based activities, in the sunshine at Pwllheli, while there was plenty of sailing at Penmaenmawr as well, with club tours going down well in Bala.
"It was a great weekend for it and lovely to see so many people enjoying the chance to mess about on the water," said Welsh Sailing's national development officer Ruth Iliffe.
"Rhyl was great with so many of the children dressing up as pirates and enjoying themselves, but it was also good to see so many people out on the water across North Wales.
The national event saw over 120 sailing clubs and centres up and down the country opening their doors to their local communities with Push the Boat Out 'have a go' sessions and open days, including several in North Wales.
"Push the Boat Out gave people the opportunity to get down to their local sailing venue, find out what the sport has to offer and discover just how easy it is to get involved" explained RYA Sport Development Manager Jon White.
"We were overwhelmed to see so many clubs taking part and hosting fantastic events which gave people of all backgrounds and abilities the opportunity to experience sailing and windsurfing locally" he concluded.
