Banbury SC hosted its inaugural Optimist open meeting on Saturday 27th April; the weather gods were kind, the sun shone, the wind blew and for the most part the rain stayed away.

A great entry of 38 sailors turned out, of which 28 were visitors, travelling from as far as Weir Wood SC and Royal Lymington. If there was a team prize then it would have gone to Burghfield SC for fielding nine sailors.

Four races were sailed with the best three to count. The top four places were closely fought in the gusty conditions with no one club being dominant. The final results hinged on the last race with the final positions as follows.
