26-27 May 2012
With the first SailEAST regatta of 2012 just around the corner, the entries have reached a tremendous 27 – with a great spread across all 4 classes.
Sponsored by Hutton Construction, HCC Insurance and Dolphin Sails, the entries for the first regatta of the season at Dabchicks Sailing Club are looking very strong with a number of new local boats looking to compete for the first time in the most successful regatta series on the East Coast. The range of competitors spans all four classes, with last year’s Champion, Richard Matthews leading the charge in Holding Pattern, through to J80’s and ¼ tonners. With variations in the handicaps this year, certain Classes will be even more competitive, so there will be plenty of action on the start-line!
SailEAST Chairman, Ian Scott commented – ‘We all know how tough the current economic climate is, so it is hugely encouraging to see such a strong turn-out for the first regatta of the year. We always have very strong local support from the Mersea boats, but it is great news to see some new local boats joining in this year as well as new entries from up and down the East Coast.’
