Shifty winds and lots of black flags
The second day of the qualifying series for the Audi Laser World Championship kicked off with sunshine but low temperatures. The wind was again very shifty with gusts of up to 13 knots, leading to the starting line being repositioned several times during both races. Towards the afternoon the wind decreased even more, making conditions for the sailors tricky and causing some major changes in the overall results. As yesterday the black flag was in frequent use with twelve Black Flag Disqualifications in the two races.
After one discard Tom Slingsby from Australia, who placed first and fourth in today's races, is still leading the preliminary overall results with three points. Hot on his heels are Tonci Stipanovic (CRO) with a total of six points following a second and eighth place today and third overall with six points as well is fellow Australian Tom Burton who placed second in his fleet twice today.
