Welcome to our weekly section for sailors old and new alike! Each week we will look at a different sailing term and its meaning/origin - why? - because we can!
This week's Get Nautical is:
Tattle Tale
Meaning: Light cord attached to a mooring line at two points a few inches apart with a slack section in between to indicate when the line is stretching from the ship’s rising with the tide.

Winning Weekend For P&B!
P&B Zhik Race Team’s Tom Gillard beat the 28 strong fleet at the Banbury Sailing Club Solo Open meeting. Tom won the first two races and finished his series with a third in the last race.
Tom was using a flat P&B OD0L4 sail on a Selden D+ mast. Tom who is current Fireball World Champion will also be campaigning our Solo this year.
The top three boats at the Burghfield National 12 open meeting were all P&B powered DCBs. They were all using our flat cut OD0L6 mainsails and the standard DCB jib. Graham Camm and Zoe Ballantine dominated winning all three race at their home event.
P&B Zhik Race Team’s Ross Kearney and Ed Bradbury won the Shustoke GP event. Ross and Ed, following a winter of sail development, had great boat speed and won two out of the three races beating many of the regular winners in the process.
Ross was using a new cut of Genoa and Spinnaker.
P&B also recently fitted out a brand new Duffin GP14 hull for Dave Young and Seonaid Flemming who finished 5th at their first competitive outing.
