The British Moth Boat Aassociation (BMBA) Members celebrated 80 years [1932-2012] of this iconic dinghy at Alexandra Palace on Saturday 3rd March. The health of the Class was toasted with a specially made Birthday Cake and plenty of the sparkling stuff!

Prominant on the class stand was the John Claridge new and very attractive deep-cockpit sandwich composite constructed British Moth "Blue One". With her clean lines and open cockpit was attracting a great deal of attention. The show boat is equipped with Claridge Carbon Spars and as ever is adorned with Claridge innovation; carbon spreader/prodder assembly, adjustable shrouds and lowers led aft. Above all the boat is very well moulded and superbly finished...a winner for sure.

The new "off the shelf" racer offers the Class an ultra competitive option to other all wood options from Severn Sailboats and Godfrey Clark and the self completion FRP Hull purchased through the BMBA/White Formula.

Another 80 years is somewhat ambitious but this is a very active Class and reknowned for its friendliness and support to Class members. Book your 1932-2032 / 100th Anniversary T-Shirts now!
