Streaker class sail numbers break through into the 1800s
by Alan Gillard on 1 Mar 2012
Stand C16, 3-4 March 2012
2011 saw a total of 36 new Streakers hit the water, following on from this success already this year 20 new Streakers have been built with a further 16 boats on order, from the classes 2 excellent boat builders in Butler Boats and Rooster Sailing. Accordingly sail numbers have broken through into the 1800’s. This is especially important for the class, because through the sale of new boats, new members are coming to join the class regulars and it means there is a regular flow of second hand boats, which are snapped up all to quickly from the boats for sale area of the association website.
Both the Streaker class builders will have their latest Streakers on show at the RYA Dinghy Show (stand C16), an all FRP epoxy boat from Rooster Sailing and a Composite (FRP epoxy hull and wood decks) Streaker from Butler Boats which will incorporate Butler Boats new hull mould.
As usual the Streaker Class Owners Association will be running its now legendary show competition where entry is free, upon answering a very simple question. Prizes have been kindly donated by Rooster Sailing, Pinnell & Bax and Sail Register.
All current and past Streaker sailors and especially potential new Streaker sailors will find a very warm welcome on the Streaker Stand C16. Come and talk to the Streaker Team… clothing optional!
