Supernova Winter Championships rearranged

As poor weather expected the 2012 Supernova Winter Championships sponsored by Oxford Carriers has been delayed until Sunday 26th February 2012.

The event will still be held at Blithfield Sailing Club.

Supernova Open at Cotswold Sailing Club

A wet, blustery and shifty force 3 to 4, greeted 39 enthusiastic sailors at Cotswold Sailing Club’s joint Supernova and Lightning Open. Race officer Dave Bevan set a fantastic course for the conditions.

Supernova Open Meeting at Bolton Sailing Club

Bolton Sailing Club hosted a Supernova Training day on Friday 13th April with 17 boats taking part in the training. Paul Earnshaw the Supernova Association chairman travelled up from Haversham SC to pass on his knowledge.

Supernova Open Meeting at Severn Sailing Club

Despite a forecast of light winds, twelve Supernovas entered the Supernova Open at Severn Sailing Club. Haversham Sailing Club, near Milton Keynes, made up the largest entry.

Supernova season 2012 starts this weekend

The Supernova season 2012 kicks off this Sunday with the re-arranged Winter Championships sponsored once again by Oxford Carriers at Blithfield SC. Last time we tried it was too cold and there was little wind – it’s looking good for this weekend!

Supernova Open at Bartley Sailing Club

It was a cold damp start to the day, but 14 visitors travelled to Bartley to join the 5 home boats and it wasn’t too long before the sun came out and the wind filled in. One nameless helm turned up a day early he was that keen to sail.

Supernova Open at Combs Sailing Club

Combs Sailing Club held their first ever Supernova Open on Saturday 24th September. Nine home boats were joined by eleven visitors from sailing clubs across the UK. With Keith Rix from Chipstead Sailing Club in Kent the longest traveller.

Supernova Calendar Changes

The open meeting planned for Haversham SC on 3rd September has been re-arranged for Saturday 5th November. The traditional end of season closing event - the Xmas Pud - will take place this year at Bartley SC.

Supernova National Championship at Saundersfoot Sailing Club

The practice race for Friday was canned in favour of trying to get four races in. The wind direction was variable, swinging by at least 180 degrees during the day and never really made it into the foothills of an F3.
