Ben McGrane and Tim Holden finish 1st & 2nd respectively at the 2011 Contender Inland Championships held by Rutland Sailing Club over the 29th and 30th October.
The event was contested over 5 races in a variety of conditions with a total of 43 competitors taking part in what is always a well supported event.
Seldén have created two different mast laminate specifications to suit different weight sailors. Ben at 76kg is one of the lighter sailors in the fleet, he has been using the SMC1 specification to assist in upwind performance against the heavier sailors, this is combined with the BC086 boom which offers unrivalled stiffness to weight characteristics.
Tim used the SMC2 spec, produced using the same Series 2 mandrel, the mast contains additional Uni-directional tapes to increase the section stiffness fore/aft and sideways. Combined with a Wavelength sail Tim showed devastating upwind performance in the varying wind strength.
All Seldén carbon spars are produced from Intermediate modulus carbon tow with carbon track under the minimum weight to allow for all varieties of rigging and trapeze systems. The masts are also fitted with adjustable spreaders and extended gooseneck as standard.
