Matt Biggs & Ben Hollis retire from SailJuice Global Warm-Up

By Matt Biggs on 16 Feb 2011

To all fellow competitors on the recent SailJuice Global Warm-Up 2011.

After much heartache, and the reading of the comments placed on this website and the Merlin Rocket forums, myself and Ben have decided to duly retire from the event.

It was never our intention to gain any illegal advantage, we were just testing the longevity of the newly designed sails not the performance.

Please don't think we have any disregard for any of the winter events or competitors as we hold them in very high esteem and have made many new friends over the years.

I think hindsight is a wonderful thing and if we thought we would cause any offence to competitors, organisers, class associations we would not for one minute have competed using these sails.

I can only apologise to everyone involved.

Matt
