Yorkshire Dales Brass Monkey rescheduled to 20th February

by Philip Whitehead 18 Jan 2011 20:35 GMT 20 February 2011

We are pleased to announce that the popular Yorkshire Dales Brass Monkey event has been re-scheduled to Sunday 20th February. We are certain it will prove a popular date as there are few big events on in late February, and most by then will have thawed out from the Tiger Trophy!

As usual, the entry for this open event costs NOTHING, but in addition to the usual Yorkshire warm welcome, competitors as last year can benefit from hot showers and underfloor heating! With the recent thaw and rain the reservoir is full to the brim and the new clubhouse, which is right on the waters edge, makes a fantastic viewing point, so spectators will be able to see the thrills and spills over the entire race area.

Judging by the number of entries we had last year, pre-entering is a must to get free entry, which closes on the 11th February, are is limited to the first 50 boats for free entry. Enter here.

Entries on the day will be at our normal rates. To assist with catering on the day, please specify on the entry form how many 'Meal Deals' you require. The Meal Deals which will a choice of hot dishes, chicken curry, pasta bolognese, spicy bean casserole, desert, unlimited tea or coffee and hot mulled wine after racing, are great value at only £5 for adults and £3 for juniors (how do we do it!).

There will be two handicap races, with the first start at 11.30am followed by lunch and then the second at approximately 1.30pm. A decision whether to split into fast and slow fleet starts will be made on the day.
