Comet Versa Inlands at Whitefriars Sailing Club

by David Talbot 19 Jul 2007 22:52 BST 16 June 2007

The Versa Inlands was the best attended yet with 11 competitors form 8 different clubs. Local expert Rodney Bottomley easily retained his title, with wins by a distance in the first two races of the best of three event. That left the third race (which was a bow shaped course) and the spinnakers on the two handed boats were going up and down. There was a lot of place changes before it was left to Bryan and Gill Hardy to make their mark with a win.

Congratulations to them as it is the first time that a two-handed boat has been on the podium of the inlands. Thanks to Whitefriars for hosting the event and Race Officer John Fellows and assistant Don Willis.
