Has anyone got any tips of what to look for or out for in Valencia. Only 5 weeks before our trip there. For instance is it easy to get from the airport into town.

Any comments would be most welcome.

Thanks

People don't use indicators so be careful when you drive

There's no such thng as lanes on the road, drive wherever you want

It's obligotry to use the horn on your car

If you are driving to the Americas Cup it's free to get in. North car park is nearest to Alinghi's base, When you get to the port your car will be police checked.

There is a subway connection to the city from the airport (New terminal) Also a bus service from outside departures upstairs.

Beer and Coffee and food are quite expensive in the Americas cup (In Spanish terms, well in relation to my wages!)

There's another part of the port which is a fair walk but quite nice, You can take a little train thingy which is free and runs the whole length of the port!

The cheapest place at the port for coffee etc is just by the desafio base, which is also one of the popular places for the teams to be watching the racing on a big screen. Basic but nice atmosphere.

Spanish people aren't so hot on queing at the airport so make sure you get your elbows prepared to nudge people!

If you have anything more you want to know feel free to ask me.

On average the team t shirts are around 50€

Now i'm off to get ready to watch the Americas cup racing on TV...I love Spain!

Thanks for that info the subway looks exactly what we want as we won't be driving. The subway website is most helpful.

What was the atmosphere in the Desafio base like last night?

I wasn't there yesterday, I started watching on tv and suddenly thought how stupid i was to not think of going yesterday!

I imagine that it was an amazing atmosphere! The Spanish people are very proud how far their team has come, obviously no one expected such a good result.
