Hi. I am a reasonably fit 63-year old (!)   (still cycling, surfing & sailing), weighing in at 68 kg. I have considerable experience in yacht sailing (Coastal Skipper), but I am in the position of no longer having the time or money to keep a keelboat, so want to get a sailing dinghy (single-handed) to get out on the water between skippering a charter once or twice a year and crewing for others. I have joined a local inland water sailing club. Currently, I have the chance to buy the following, all around the same sort of price:

1) RS Quba
2) Supernova
3) Solo

As it is 20 odd years since I last sailed a dinghy, I would like something that is not too twitchy & that I can recover easily from the inevitable capsizes that will occur as I reacquaint myself with this form of sailing. Any advice appreciated on which of these (or any other boats) would be most suitable. Thanks in advance.

Solo or Supernova for the racing.  Supernova is a fair bit quicker but not necessarily 'less stable'; Solo could well give you access to better local racing.... I'd check out the clubs.

The Quba - while not a particularly interesting option - has one unique advatange over both the others.  As a rotomoulded one-design it is what it is.... cheap to maintain, not going to be obsolete by a new iteration within the class, easy to get spares etc.  I don't think there's any nationally active racing for it though, which has a filter down effect at club level even if you have no intention to participate in it directly.
