Sorry JT , but the definitions that pop up in the Nautical Dictionary to the left at times are more akin to Viz comic ,

I challenge folks to post the daftest , naive or just plain wrong here.

 for starters :
"Jib
The front sail"                 Aye right only sail at the front's a jib Wink

"Starboard Side
The right hand side of the boat"    almost there ! but missing the wee bit that makes the difference and whole point of "starboard "

Its a pedants paradise and should carry a warning that all to be taken with good dose of salt.

either that or read for mild amusement when bored in the winter.

unfortunately some of my racier definitions havent got through , thers another challenge !

It's much more interesting if you search the same word in the urban dictionary.
eg the next three that came up
Jib : Crystal meth
foil : $25AUD deal of weed.
transom : A man who stops at nothing to impress.
And drinks harsh chemicals to get on a high.

Wacko
