So why are many of the top teams / sailors not at the Miami regatta in this Olympic year??? Logistically probably one of the easiest to get to ......
1. Kit still not returned from Perth?
1a. All still drinking fosters on the beach in Perth?
2. Fully focussed on training at Weymouth for Olympics?
3. Miami losing its status as a top regatta?
4. Not wanting to give away development advantages in Olympic year?
5. Is it clashing with something else I havn't spotted?
6. Selection pretty much done so those not selected lost interest?
7. Other ?????
Happy to consider any theories......

In the Radial class all the top three from the Worlds were there....
I think for a lot of people it is just a very busy year and you have to work out what is most important... |

Thanks Jon ..... kind of what I thought but was a bit surprised as I thought Miami was one of the more popular events normally .... being easy to get to with freight etc. .... nice weather etc.

Probably a combo of 1 and 2. If you're not got the nod for the games then you're probably gonna have some time off/ be busy selling stuff off to re-pay debts. If you have got the nod then if you've done perth and peaked for that what benefit is Miami to a training plan focused on peaking at the end of july.. |

Judging by Skiffman's video, teams have stayed in Perth to train. Sounds like a good plan.
