2017 Safety at Sea Group UpdateWe would like to personally thank everyone for there support during our 2016/17 maritime season campaign in promoting the safety awareness programme within many maritime sectors Plus extra thanks to all the volunteers who have worked so hard this year in getting the many campaign messages across or raising much needed funds for the RNLI, I must also mention and give thanks to all who volunteer within our wonderful RNLI & UK Coastguard Services who we all owe them so much to which sadly many take for granted until the day (it`s never going to happen to me comes) and your life depends on there superb training & team work offered freely 24/7 365 days a year.... We must give full credit to this seasons two high profile campaigns formed into one from The RNLI (Saving Live`s At Sea) 2017 (Respect The Water) within there very informative website shared across many media networks during this season we fully believe the efforts of the RNLI have made the general public more aware & take the time to stop and think... (What If..) https://www.respectthewater.com/ Plus the superb short film within the link above which goes into more in depth detail on
just what would happen to anyone who managed to get into this situation
Published on 24 May 2017 ready for the forthcoming holiday season - Fight your instinct, not the water.... We are pleased to announce from early reports from across the private & commercial areas numbers are looking lower that 2016 for Coastguard Rescue involvement, But sadly we still have had casualty's this year with many being avoidable, A signal loss of life is one too many but our working efforts will continue to help improve safety levels on our coasts & at sea. Full Reports - Unfortunately we do not have completed figures and reports from both RNLI & MCA at this time, Details will be released in due course via there own detailed reports. Thanks once again for everyone`s involvement in making a success of our 2017 Maritime season. Please Support The RNLI in anyway you can Many thanks - The Safety At Sea Team (The Maritime Group) Safety At Sea UK - CEO Lord Woodford MBE Our maritime support programme reports will be published later in the year covering our Charity work plus individual sailing groups developments this will include our equipment donations and our onsite training groups in management and team leading roles within the marine safety network.
