aye. If not the Finn at Rio, I'm not sure what else- unless the ACWS stuff makes him superb at catamarans? That would annoy the rafters somewhat, they get the mutli back in and a man from the world of "half-boats" comes along and takes their spot...

Funnily enough Graham, that's what I picked up on.
Think I will stick with my D-One.

To be fair it isn't the Finn that is the problem but swithcing off rule 42 and thus trying to air row a heavy boat that is physically challenging ...

Agreed.

If BA says he gets to the bottom mark and he feels sick with it being worse than any of his gym workouts, then.....bloomin heck that's tuff, and then to have to go upwind again....brrrr.

+like

The air rowing of the Finns down wind looks ridiculous, when it was turned off they just turned to rocking like all the other classes.
Like some other things - sailing is more enjoyable when you do it with someone else

Jeez, if you thing that's tough, you should try 4 hours of 'air rowing' around Hayling Island, that stuff they're doing in the Finns? Walking pussy in the park, Windsurfers? We pump all the way round the course, no sitting down to relax upwind.. Funny enough with the bigger rig used on the RSX, pumping isn't as prevalent as it was with previous classes, and of course they get to use the harness these days, now when men were really men..... Wink

Give it up ... we already know nothing we are watching this week is a patch on beach toy racing in the 70s and that if you were younger you'd be whipping the ar5e of all the sailors currently at Weymouth ...

The biggest improvement for RIO would be a new BBC commentator!
