Tell you what, why don't you come and line up against Ali Young at the next radial qualifier. They're open entry after all so there's nothing anyone can do to stop you teaching her a few lessons about how to start properly. Make sure you let us know how that goes.

I might just do that, would I get to wear a dress sailing whilst I beat her off the line?

Only if you agree that should you fail to beat her off the line you have to wear a mankini for the rest of your sailing career.
Deal?

As much as that is unlikely to happen, wearing a mankini is hardly punishment so yes it's a deal.

Getting mightily p****d off with the bum dribble TV coverage of Olympic sailing that's been provided up till now.
Far too much of this type of frustrating snakes & ladders rubbish in flukey, patchy wind; Whilst elsewhere in Rio there's lots of genuinely exciting and challenging racing going on; No wonder participation in sailing is at an all time low, talk about missed opportunity........... |

Same here - it's been terrible. They don't seem to have camera presence on all the courses, and are choosing to put what they have on the terrible ones.
Also the tracking is completely useless because they don't have any wind data linked in, so the position lines/calculations are total garbage.

The IOC have paid for bottom tier coverage, which means they can basically only cover the closer courses to the beach. Massive shame as the outside courses have been epic. Talking to the guys out there it has been full on with some gigga waves!

Personally I don't think I'd like to be out there looking through a viewfinder on those waves...

The really frustrating thing is that there are cameras out there, but the use of the footage they capture is minimal & at times appears totally random and poorly edited, to say nothing of the rubbish commentary.
