Slightly more interesting anyway. Let's see
Do peopple think it's better to teach young kids in singlehanders ie. oppies n let them work it out for themselves, or teach them 2-1 in a mirror/something similar?
MIRROR 64799 "Dolphin"
The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist hopes it will change; the realist adjusts the sail

that's what i think knightmare. You can give them more/better feedback on what theyare doing, there is room for you in the boat (cursed oppies! ) and tis easier cos u cn show them what to do more easily than just doing a land drill, and see that they understand it.

Mirror because it made loads of people intrested in the sport and helping to shed the toffy image

International 14 because without it dinghys will still be balasted

Only in the UK though. The "best boat ever" should be more international.

I agree that I14 would be a good candidate with its long history of innovation (even if they did ban trapezes for 32 years!)

I'd say Nelsons "HMS Victory" for obvious reasons! But then again that
might be considered zeonphobic. So how about "The Golden Hind".... dam
in trouble again! OK "SS Great Britain" I've got to be safe with that one,
mind you there all ships. Boat? I supose it depends how you define boat.
Because the best one ever has to be a ruffly cut log that allowed our
ansestors to mirgate from Africa and beyond. But if you mean a racing
dinghy it has to be the I14. The first Nationaly raced dinghy. But it was
never a peoples boat, that prize has to go to the National 12. Designed in
responce to the expense of the 14. The National 12 took sailing to the
masses, before newspaper marketing vehicals like Mirrors, so it has to the
best boat ever. But then again the best boat ever is the one your
dreaming about that's on your drawing board at any given time.

The historical view is an interesting one: how about the first ever one-design, going back to 1886 and still racing today? http://www.dlharbour.ie/content/history/water_wags.php

Hang on I've just realised it should be "The Beagle" the boat that Charles
Darwin started to develop his "origin of species" theories on!

The Mirror is an international class so must have affected other countries, the N12 is far less common so did not take sailing to the masses
