Sorry no intent to mislead- up yours ISAF
did RYA not stick the boot in , in the frst place .(despite their wranglings after ) Elephants don't forget .
My message hidden behind it all ,is the cats now have a new pinnacle to their sport and something to encourage folks into cat sailing , which cant be a bad thing .
Shame ISAF hadnt the vision .
As for cat match racing being boring , last AC was a missmatched winged tri versus a soft sailed cat , was it ever going to be close ?
Similar boats racing at high speed can still provide good match racing , in another life I match raced a buddy over two years in hurricane 5.9s albeit in a hcap class , we scrapped from start to finish , pushing out at starts marks , high speed convergences, pushing rulesand each other to the limits , , never more than a few boat lengths apart , often races not won till last minute , constant place changing throughout.
