Bob Fisher reports in today's Guardian that Alinghi is damaged, but it's not reported anywhere else - not even Y and Y. What's going on?

Its been reported on SA for about a week now.

In order to minimise racking/twisting of the platform under the enormous loads, there is a Y-frame underneath the tramp. One of the beams has started to fail where it pins to the back beam. The boat was lifted out and is currently assumed to be in-repair!

Thanks. Obviously G***** doesn't go there.

Still think it's odd none of the other sailing sites picked it up, though.

Alinghi appears to be sailing again. Not entirely sure Bob Fisher got his facts correct here.

The AC forum on SA has been getting loads of hits on the subject of this alledged damage to Alinghi, and a lot of the SA spotters who have been keeping tabs on the action with webcams, have not spotted any sailing in Genoa in recent days. Some have suggested this is a ploy by Alinghi to draw attention away from development of a tri, but then there are loads of theories being banded about and most, if not all, will be absolute tosh!!!!

That appears to be incorrect. There are recent webcam shots of Alinghi on the water.
