I think mate just splice a very generous length into the swiftcord, and put some locking stitches in.

Hi Alex I take it that you are splicing Swiftcord as Maffioli is the manufacturer. Swiftcord is a 12 plait rope without a core in. So when you want a tail or a loop in the end of it you need to splice some compact 12 into it. The way you do that is splice the compact 12 straight up the end of the swiftcord for 15-20cm. Then it just need to be sewn in, so it does come out. So with one bit of whipping twine back stitch 10cm from the end towards the end. When you get to the end whip the end. You can do all sorts of splices with swiftcord it is very versitile. When splicing 8mm I use 4mm compact, with 6mm I use 3mm compact. I hope this makes sense if not email me adam@rssailing.com and I will get you some pics. |

Old thread I know, but can anyone provide a more detailed description or pictures of how to put an eye splice in Swiftcord?

Thanks I've probably watched most of the relevant videos on that channel in my research. I thought I'd be able to make a simple Brummell splice like I've done before with single braid dyneema, but I just can't bury the tail in this Swiftcord.
I assume others have had the same issue which is why a previous poster advised splicing a smaller diameter rope into the Swiftcord. It's that method I'm interested in. I haven't a video showing it yet |

Taper the tail before burying it and it will be much easier.
